DPBC’s Donald Capparella Speaks at 2025 NBA Appellate Section Institute
On October 21, 2025, Donald Capparella gave tips on oral argument - lessons learned the hard way, at the 2025 Nashville Bar Association Appellate Section Institute. The event took place at Sherrard Roe Voigt & Harbison, PLC, and also included attorney Andree Blumstein and the Honorable Judge Tom Greenholtz from the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals.
Donald Capparella has established a reputation as one of Tennessee’s most respected appellate attorneys, with his experience handling a wide variety of matters, from seminal tort law cases to work on many of Tennessee’s landmark cases in other areas of law.

Michael Bressman serves as Professor of the Practice of Law at Vanderbilt Law School where he has taught a variety of courses over the last 15 years. This year, Professor Bressman received the Hall-Hartman Award honoring excellent teaching for one of the first-year sections of Contracts. He also teaches Intellectual Property and the Arts Clinic, and directs the Law School’s clerkship program.
