Yarbro Nominated as Director of Metro Department of Law
Current DPBC managing partner Tyler Chance Yarbro has been nominated by Mayor Freddie O’Connell as the next director of the Metro Department of Law. Yarbro will replace Wally Dietz, who will retire from the position in July, 2026.
Candi Henry will replace Yarbro as managing partner at Dodson Parker Behm & Capparella, effective July 1, 2026
Tyler Yarbro served as Metro’s public defender from 2004 to 2010, moving on from that role to Dodson Parker Behm & Capparella in 2011. The wife of state Sen. Jeff Yarbro (D-Nashville), she has served as an adjunct Vanderbilt University law professor since 2015.

Michael Bressman serves as Professor of the Practice of Law at Vanderbilt Law School where he has taught a variety of courses over the last 15 years. This year, Professor Bressman received the Hall-Hartman Award honoring excellent teaching for one of the first-year sections of Contracts. He also teaches Intellectual Property and the Arts Clinic, and directs the Law School’s clerkship program.
