Tyler Yarbro Quoted in Article Discussing Pending Legislation
Following the Dobbs decision and the enactment of Tennessee’s abortion ban, Tennessee legislators filed a bill seeking clarification that the state’s strict abortion laws do not prohibit contraceptives or fertility treatments, including in vitro fertilization. After the Alabama Supreme Court’s recent ruling that frozen embryos are considered children under the state’s wrongful death statute, this proposed legislation has garnered attention. Appellate Advocacy: A Handbook on Appellate Practice in Tennessee, 13th Edition Now Available
The Nashville Bar Association’s Appellate Practice Committee has published the thirteenth edition of Appellate Advocacy: A Handbook on Appellate Practice in Tennessee. The Handbook, available at no cost here, provides novice and experienced litigators helpful tips and analysis on practicing in the state’s appellate courts.

Tyler Yarbro Participates in Nashville Bar Foundation Leadership Forum
Yarbro participated in a “round robin” discussion on Leadership and Service for the Nashville Bar Foundation Leadership Forum. Other participants in the discussion were Sharon Roberson of the YWCA, Alfred Degrafinreid of Leadership Nashville, and Dannelle Whiteside of Austin Peay State University. The NBFLF is a leadership program for attorneys in Nashville who have been practicing between three and eight years, designed to bring together emerging leaders to participate in monthly workshops over the course of nine months. This month’s workshop focused on Public and Legislative Service.

Tyler Yarbro’s Brief Quoted in Tennessean Article
Tyler Yarbro, Appellate Counsel for Lindsey Lowe, filed the principal brief arguing why the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals should uphold the ruling of Honorable Dee David Gay of Sumner County granting Lindsey Lowe a new trial. Judge Gay found that Ms. Lowe’s right to a fair trial had been violated because the jury that voted to convict Ms. Lowe was biased. Judge Gay granted a new trial and the State appealed.
